Welcome to the RGIK Community!
Our community is dedicated to advancing the understanding and research of rock glacier dynamics. This portal serves as a hub for experts, researchers, and enthusiasts to collaborate. Below you can discover our network of community partners who contribute and expand our research capabilities. You can also engage with our ongoing surveys to help us determine what our community impact looks like.
Join us in detailed discussions and contribute your own insights in our members-only forum. Log in now to connect with other members of the RGIK community!
RGIK Seminar Series
Our seminar series serves as a cornerstone of the RGIK community, offering a valuable platform to share innovative research, foster collaboration, and advance the collective understanding of rock glaciers. These seminars bring together experts, researchers, and community members, creating the space for exchanging ideas, sparking meaningful discussions, and building connections across disciplines and geographical borders. The impact of these sessions extends beyond the presentations and discussions themselves, fueling new ideas, inspiration, and collaborations to drive progress. To see upcoming and previous topics and presentations, refer to the tables below. To join the meeting, please click the title of the presentation.
If you are interesting in presenting your work during one of the upcoming semesters, we encourage you to get involved. Please contact RGIK at info@rgik.org for more information!

RGIK Community Surveys
RGIK launched two (2) community surveys to compile a record of worldwide overviews of existing/planned Rock Glacier Inventories (RoGI) and Rock Glacier Velocity (RGV) time-series. The purpose of these surveys is to get an estimate of what exists in the community, as well as an overview of planned initiatives, regardless of their format/content. The surveys are on-going initiative and have no deadline for completion.
Please use the links below to access the surveys:
